Il programma nel dettaglio
If you’re interested in the fascinating and long history of Greece, this is the perfect shore excursion while you’re in the port of Piraeus. Don't miss the chance to visit Athens and Corinth, two of the strongest cities of ancient times.
After meeting your professionally trained and licensed guide on the pier, depart from Piraeus and drive along the coast reaching the Corinth canal, an engineering marvel which connects the Peloponnese with mainland Greece. After a short stop for pictures, continue with a few minutes drive to Ancient Corinth, where Apostle Paul came, worked and established a thriving church, subsequently sending two of his epistles, now part of the New Testament. Visit also the Agora and one of the most outstanding monuments of pre –Roman period, the temple of Apollo.
Return back to Athens for a panoramic drive around the main modern attractions of the city including a visit at the impressive Panathinaiko Stadium, the only stadium in the world built out of white marble. Proceed, passing by Zappeion and Temple of Olympian Zeus. Next is the sight that's sure to be a highlight of any visitor's list: the UNESCO-listed Acropolis. Visit Parthenon, the temple on the top of the sacred rock devoted to Goddess Athena (Goddess of wisdom), the Propylae the monumental entrance to the Acropolis hill and the small temple Athena Nike, which stands on a protruding mass of rock, protecting the gate to the citadel and of course the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens. Admire also the Mars Hill where Apostle Paul, in the shadow of the Acropolis, preached one of the most memorable sermons recorded in the Bible (Acts 17:22-31).
Enjoy your luxury drive back to Piraeus Port, where you’ll be dropped off at your ship on time for your embarcation.
