Taco History

The history of the taco is really unknown. Some says the word originates from the silver mines in Mexico in the 18th century, others claim tacos predate the arrival of the Spanish in Mexico in the 16th century. Anthropologist’s say there is evidence-suggesting inhabitants of the lake region of the Valley of Mexico ate tacos filled with small fish.

A taco is a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling and is eaten without utensils and is accompanied by garnishes such as salsa, guacamole, cilantro, etc.



Tequila History

Mayahuel was the Aztec goddess of Maguey, as well one of the protectors of fertility. Maguey or Agave is a native plant from Mexico, it was also used to make mats, clothing, rope, paper & a nutrimental drink named pulque.

In 1600 the first tequila factory was established by Don Pedro Sanchez de tagle.

In 1996 Mexico signed an international agreement for all countries to recognize tequila as a product from only 5 regions of Mexico (Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacan, Nayarit & Tamaulipas).

In 1997 the European Union signed the Tequila Trade accord, recognizing Mexico as the sole producer of Tequila.
