Private tour in Batiloro, The Venetian Goldsmith

Informazioni generali

Destinazione
Venezia, Italia

Il programma nel dettaglio

Opened in 1969 to continue the ancient family craft begun in 1926, the laboratory is hidden in the palazzo where the master painter Tiziano Vecellio lived for 45 years until his death.

It is in this magical place that the art of gilding thin foils is preserved and practised.

During your guided visit, you will discover the history of this craft and meet the families who have carried on the ancient art of Battiloro. You will see the whole process of transforming gold from ingot to sheet: melting, laminating, beating, cutting and packaging.
