Il programma nel dettaglio
The top tourist attraction in Panama is by far the Panama Canal which is one of the best in the world. You can either get to know all about this civil engineering gem from afar or you can get all up in the thick of it! By picking to jump in to it head first, you’re putting yourself in the position that not many have been in, you become part of the history as you cross the Panama Canal. You’ll get to see how the boats go about their daily business as well as making your way along to Pedro Miguel and Miraflores on board a tourist ferry.
You start off by being picked up from your hotel as the sun begins to creep out from behind the clouds. We will either start off from Gamboa or the pier in Panama City depending on the day. We shall either make our way from North to South or vice versa depending on where we set off from. As soon as you’re in the boat, you’ll start crossing the channel. The boat will be either raised or lowered (again depending on the day) so that it’s possible to get you across. You’ll find out all about the way that the transit takes place and how the ship is able to make its way around. As well as that, you’ll come to know about the history along the way! As you’re going across, you’re free to snap some pics of other boats during their transit too.
The route is as follows: Starting out from Flamenco, passing under the Bridge of the Americas, on to Miraflores Locks, then Pedro Miguel, then Puente Centenario, then Culebra Cut, then Gatun Lake Gatun Locks and finishes up in Cristobal Colon Port. Flamenco return by land.
