Belgrade – Sargan eight – Wooden town – Stopica cave with Sirogojno – Zlatibor
Morning departure from Belgrade and drive toward Western Serbia via picturesque Ovcar-Kablar Canyon that extends above meanders of the Western Morava River. Short stop will be made next to one of 17 monasteries located along this gorge.
The tour leads us to nearby Mokra Gora, the home of a unique retro Sargan 8 Railway. Expect a drive in a train that travels from the bottom of Sargan mountain, on a way that is formed in the shape of number eight. At the beginning of the 20th century it used to be a part of the railway from Belgrade to Sarajevo. Journey on retro-train called “Nostalgy” will bring you back to past and will let you enjoy mountain sceneries and numerous tunnels and viaducts.
Enjoy breathtaking nature and arrive at Ethno-village “Wooden Town” or Drvengrad that was built by prominent movie director Emir Kusturica. All the objects, including Mecavnik Hotel, apartment houses, galleries, shops, cinema and churches are made of natural materials, mostly from wood. Since the traditional film festival “Kustendorf” is held here, Wooden Town had an honor to accommodate biggest movie stars: Johnny Depp, Monica Belucci, Jim Jarmusch and many others. In the inexperienced silence of the mountain Mokra Gora, you will enjoy traditional Serbian food during the lunch.
After less than an hour of driving, you will have chance to taste one of the greatest products of West Serbia.
Upon arrival at famous Zlatibor Mountain, first Royal resort in Serbia, enjoy a relaxing walk around the town centre of this prominent air spa. Overnight.
Zlatibor – Uvac – Belgrade
Breakfast. Departure from Zlatibor to Special Natural Reserve „Uvac“ where you will enjoy an amazing cruise at Uvac lake or as locals call it “Sjenicko lake”.
Uvac lake was formed in 1970-s under the mountains Javor and Zlatar when a dam on the river Uvac was built in order to use its hydro energetic potential. Uvac lake is on 1000 m of altitude and it is the second highest lake in Serbia, the lake is 25 km long and over than 100m deep. Pristine nature of Uvac lake attracts many tourists, fishermen and scientists — speleologists, geologists and botanists. Majority of them come for two reasons: the griffon vulture habitat not far from the dam and famous Uvac river meanders.
The boat trip with ranger service of the Reserve provide a breathtaking sight. Speleologists and cave lovers may enjoy Usacka cave or Ledena (Icy) cave, parts of Usacka cave system (6 km long) and climb to observation point for bird-watching.
After this exciting boat trip get back to Zlatibor for lunch break and proceed to Belgrade. Hotel check-in. Overnight.
