Il programma nel dettaglio

Explore the natural environment on, around, and within Langjökull glacier and its man-made ice cave on this full-day experience from Reykjavik. You'll see the surface of the ice cap and what lies below as you're taken deep into the glacier, then choose between seeing the famous Hraunfossar waterfall or relax in the small village of Húsafell. You will be accompanied by a guide, and you can learn more information from personal touch-screen audio guides on board the bus. The destination of this tour is Iceland’s second largest ice cap, Langjökull, located in West Iceland. Specially-modified trucks will take you onto the glacier and to Langjökull’s man-made Ice Cave. The Ice Tunnel and Cave are located on the west side of ice cap, 1,260 metres (4134 feet) above sea level, leading you deep into the glacier where you can witness the glacier’s movements first hand. After exploring the Ice Cave, you can have lunch in the nearby Húsafell area. Lastly, you will enjoy the beautiful Hraunfossar Waterfall, a stunning mile-long waterfall that flows through a porous wall of lava.

Our partner, Reykjavík Sightseeing, boasts a new bus fleet equipped with modern comforts such as a USB charger and WiFi connected computer tablets in each seat that include a GPS Sensitive In-Bus.

Waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves, and warm socks/waterproof shoes are essential for staying warm and dry during the visit into the ice cave. If you have any difficulty walking consider that you will be walking within a ice cave and it will be important to have the right equipment with you that allows you to move comfortable and safely along the uneven and slippery ground.
