Hear about Jewish immigration to Shanghai and visit important sites where thousands of Jewish refugees lived during World War II.
Discover the Jewish history of Shanghai on a half-day private tour. The guide will pick you up at your hotel, first we will visit to Ohel Rachel Synagogue, built by the Sassoon family in 1920, this majestic building is not open to the public, but we may take a look from outside and enjoy its history and beauty. And then we will proceed to Peace Hotel, the former Cathy Hotel, which was the symbol of "Paris of Orient" for Shanghai. Afterwards the former Ghetto is followed, we will visit to a local home where Jewish people once lived, as they escaped from Europe during the World War II, about 20,000 Jewish people coming to Shanghai as refugees.
Last but not least, we will visit to Ohel Moishe Synagogue and its museum to know more information about the history for Jewish people's life in Shanghai. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
