Il programma nel dettaglio
Bring out your adventurous side and hike up the Iztaccihuatl volcano for a tour that explores the wilder side of Mexico. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and head to the peaceful tranquility of the mountains for stunning views atop the third highest mountain in the country.
Start your morning with an energy boost with a traditional breakfast of quesadillas, tamales, birria or other dishes at the foot of the volcano before your adventure begins to the top of the ‘The Sleeping Woman’. We continue the next part of the journey by car to ‘La Joya’, the famous ‘Paso de Cortés’, located at 3,700 metres altitude where Spanish conquistadores crossed on their way to Tenochtitlan in 1519. From here, we take an intermediate route ascending towards the top by foot. Stunning landscapes will evolve before your eyes as you climb further up and you’ll witness the changing climates and flora.
Experience complete tranquillity once we climb to between 4,200 and 4,800 metres, where you’ll see the spectacular glacier and equally spectacular views over Popocatepetl, ‘smoking mountain’ and companion to Iztaccihuatl. Take time to disconnect, take photos and admire the views before we descend back down and return to Mexico City. We will arrive back into the city for approximately 6pm, in plenty of time for you to enjoy the evening and reflect on the day’s achievements.
