Il programma nel dettaglio

Discover the historic city of Bursa, original capital of the Ottoman Empire and the fourth most populous city in modern-day Turkey. See its most important monuments, including ornate mosques and mausoleums, and enjoy the fine views of Uludag, the mountain that looms over the city, one of Turkey’s highest peaks and the country’s main winter sports venue.

Famous for its peaches, chestnuts and fine silks – all of which are widely available in the markets and shops – Bursa’s chief claim to fame is the fact that it was once the capital of the mighty Ottoman Empire. Largely because of this it can boast a higher than usual number of fine buildings and outstanding examples of Ottoman architecture such as the Grand Mosque and the Green Mosque are among the undoubted highlights of the tour.

The city is also renowned for its hot mineral waters, which have attracted visitors drawn by their therapeutic properties since at least Roman times. Fed by thermal springs rich in magnesium, calcium and sulphur, the ancient baths have been in continuous use for approximately 700 years.

Visit the Covered Bazaar, famous for its Silk Market, and enjoy authentic Bursa cuisine at one of the traditional restaurants in the old town. Bursa has acquired the affectionate soubriquet of Green Bursa, a reflection of the many beautiful parks and gardens that are scattered throughout the city and the spectacular Mount Uludag that forms a constant backdrop.

Discover the delightful and historic city of Bursa with this full-day tour from Istanbul.
