Il programma nel dettaglio

Visit greatness Mexico with a 2-day tour that takes you through the history and folklore of the country in the main cultural and tourist attractions of the city.

Day 1

We start the tour departing from Mexico City in the direction of the ruined city of Teotihuacan, also known as the City of the Gods. At its height during the first millennium, the Aztecs dominated the territory and built the temples in veneration of their gods, now declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the entire country. Accompanied by your local guide you can explore the magnificent Sun and Moon pyramids, the Avenue of the Dead and the Quetzalcoatl and the Butterflies Temples. We will have time to take a lunch (on our own) and visit traditional craft markets in the region.

Then we will go to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the most visited religious place in Latin America. The sanctuary was built in 1531 after Juan Diego, a peasant in the area had a vision of a woman surrounded by light, asking that a church be built in his honor. She identified herself as the Virgin Mary and left an image of herself imprinted miraculously on the peasant's cloak. The sanctuary itself is a wonderful example of Spanish Baroque art and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Catholics around the world.

Day 2

The next day get ready for Coyoacán, a traditional neighborhood where its temples, houses, markets and parks are totally colonial, where you will also visit "La Casa Azul", old house and now Frida Kahlo Museum (Monday closes). Visit the markets of handicrafts, cafes and bookstores more representative of the neighborhood and take a true experience of Mexican style. We continue on board a colorful trajinera decorated with regional flowers that will take you through the fantastic channels of Xochimilco to live an unforgettable experience full of music, dance and tradition in its best splendor.

Also visit the most famous university in Mexico: UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), whose building was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and was attended by renowned architects and artists such as Diego Rivera, Juan O'Gorman, Siqueiros and Mario Pani, among others. Enjoy its architecture and murals before ending the journey.
