Il programma nel dettaglio

There are two sides to rural England, country houses and countryside, each astonishingly beautiful in its own way. This full day tour allows you to discover the impressive elegance of Blenheim Palace, one of the greatest stately homes in Europe, and then enjoy the bucolic charms of the Cotswolds, where sleepy villages and bustling market towns evoke the pre-industrial age.

Located outside the quaint village of Woodstock, Blenheim Palace has one of the most interesting histories of any building in Britain. Built in the rare English baroque style, it is a Unesco World Heritage Site. It was the birthplace and ancestral home of Winston Churchill, whose ancestor, the first Duke of Marlborough, began building construction in 1705 following his victory at the Battle of Blenheim in Bavaria. A grateful nation granted him the palace as a reward, and to this day it remains the only property in England not related to the royal family or church to be called a palace. See the stunning state rooms, the actual room Churchill was born in and wander around the gorgeous gardens designed by Capability Brown.

The Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a charming blend of breathtaking landscapes, market towns and picturesque villages. Enjoy a panoramic tour through the villages. Visit the historic town of Burford, which is affectionately known as the Venice of the Cotswolds and is built around a steep high street leading to the River Windrush and its medieval bridge.
