Il programma nel dettaglio
Have a whale of a time in Cardiff with this fascinating day trip from London. It may be Britain you’re in but this is another country as the street signs in a language rich in Ws, Ds and Ys will attest. Visit the historic castle, which has sections dating from Roman times, and enjoy an open-top bus tour or a visit to the world-famous Millennium Stadium.
Cardiff Castle is a proper fortress with walls, gates and a bailey and motte. Parts of the walls are from the Roman era, which means it has been located on this spot overlooking the River Taff for 2,000 years. The current layout owes much to the Normans and the Victorian Gothic revival style. The breathtaking Arab Room is a rare feature in such northern climes and evokes the majesty of the Alhambra of Granada.
Then, depending on the season, enjoy an open-top bus tour of the city. View all the main sights and attractions including the bay and the old docklands district, which has been redeveloped into a vibrant area full of restaurants, bars and cafés. See the Techniquest science exhibition centre, the National Museum of Wales and much more.
Alternatively, visit the Millennium Stadium, where the Welsh national rugby and football teams play their home matches. This state-of-the-art venue has a retractable roof and the tour includes visits to the Dragon's Lair, the Welsh team dressing room, the payers’ tunnel and the hospitality suites.
