A fascinating itinerary led by an archaeologist, classical historical medievalist or a certified speleologist for the city of Rome. Over the centuries, earthquakes, fires and floods caused the ground level of the many areas to rise (up to 25 metres) which resulted in entire villas, temples and palaces being buried. Many of these sites, now lying under street level, have been excavated offering a look into Rome’s immense underground heritage. These hidden and mysterious parts of the city are what Gartour wants to reveal with its ‘New Underground exclusive Rome Tours’. This tour includes the visit of the Spanish Steps and the undergrounds of the Trevi Fountain.
Meeting/pick-up point: Pick-up only from the hotels in the center of Rome.
