Delve into the colourful past of the beautiful Hawaiian island of Maui as you embark on the Maui Country Farms Tour. Put yourself in the hands of friendly and fun-loving natives Rick and Marilyn, who will regale you with stories of their beloved homeland. Their gift of the gab, sense of humour and love of the land are infectious. Be enchanted by Rick’s legendary story-telling ability as he reminisces with island elders about simpler times on ‘old Maui’.
Then the various areas of Maui where workers in the sugarcane and pineapple industry lived were called The Camps, and Rick is a gold mine of stories about this time. From the comfort of an eight-seater tour bus, journey into the country up mount Haleakala, to share in the rich agricultural beauty and bounty of Maui. Here you’ll find numerous flower, vegetable and onion farms to explore. Take in extraordinary views of Maui’s two coastlines, where Humpback whales return each year to breed in the marine sanctuary.
By the end of your excursion we’ll make sure you understand why Maui is considered to be one of the most beautiful places on earth, and that you’ll want to return again and again!
Meeting/pick-up point: Collection from Lahaina area hotels.
Duration: Five-six hours depending on traffic conditions.
Start/opening time: 9am for the morning tour; 11.45am for the afternoon tour; and all day tour starts at 9am.
End/closing time: 2pm for the morning tour; 4.45pm for the afternoon tour; and 4.45pm for the all day tour, subject to change.
