Admire the work of art that is the Alt Emporda region, which is renowned throughout Spain for its stunning scenery, picturesque fishing villages, fine wines and for being the birthplace of surrealist genius Salvador Dali. This delightful day trip takes in a visit to the mad-as-a-hatter museum dedicate to Dali’s life and work that is his inimitable legacy to his hometown of Figueres. As you approach the museum you will be instantly astounded by its design which represents the largest surrealist object in the world.

Discover the immense collection of thousands of pieces ranging from paintings to sculptures, jewellery to photography and even holograms. Unveil the genius of the surrealist as you wander through endless passageways of splendour.

Next visit a local winery to sample the delights of the region and uncover the secrets of its production before continuing to the gorgeous harbour town of Cadaques. Dali chose Cadaques to be his hometown and it is easy to see why. Prepare to be seriously impressed by the harmonious feel of the port with its whitewashed houses nestled at the foot of the mountains. Uncover the raw beauty of the Cap de Creus National Park which is a marine and nature reserve bursting with a rich natural heritage. Look out for eagles, kestrels and even scorpion fish.
