Come face to face with some furry new friends when you embark on this African safari… right here in the Ile de France! Thoiry Zoo has over 370 acres of adventure to offer you and your family a really wild day out. This educational and exciting nature park is an ideal destination for brave explorers and nature lovers, whether they’re eight or 80.

Herds of elephants, hippos and zebras roam freely in the African reserve just like they do in the wild. Luckily you don’t have to forgo any creature comforts to get up close and personal with your favourite animals, because you can view them from the comfort of the coach. Move on to the beautifully planned zoological gardens where more fantastic fauna awaits you. Enter the kingdom of the big cats where lions, tigers, snow leopards and cheetahs prowl. Journey to an exotic island where monkeys rule. If you’re lucky, you might meet a rare Komodo dragon. There’s also lots of opportunities to learn about the important role Thoiry plays in the conservation of endangered species around the world.

When you’re done with dingos and doves and you’ve had your fill of falcons and foxes there’s still the stunning 16th century castle to explore. With its magnificent furniture, historic portraits and beautiful tapestries, it’s a trip back in time. Then why not sit for a while among the stately trees of the extensive gardens, where the scent of roses fills the air? Children will love the fantastic full-size maze and the small animal section, and there’s plenty of educational activities to keep them busy.
