Il programma nel dettaglio
Pay homage to the fallen with this emotive and thought-provoking tour of Arras and Vimy Ridge, two locations forever scarred by the tragedy World War I. This is much more than just a day of remembrance; it is an educational experience, a must, to say the least, for anybody interested in learning about the history of the Great War and its consequences.
Explore this part of the Western front, The Artois, a landscape which, at the turn of the century, was mostly dyed in blood and, nowadays, is a dire reminder of those terrible bygone days. Many cemeteries and memorials bear witness to the atrocities committed and the countless lives that were lost
Discover major sites where ruthless battles shook the ground beneath them. One of the battlefields you will visit is one of major significance in the history books of Canada: the Canadian National Commemorative Park. Located in Vimy, this location is still ridden war scars and battle souvenirs, from serpentine trenches to eerie mine craters.
All of the major sites you will contemplate on this journey through time and past horror contain such traces of the Great War: memorial, cemeteries, trenches, the footprints of war. Within these scenarios, devoted to memory, lie the remains of soldiers from manifold countries. British, French, Australians, New Zealanders and troops from many other countries who shuffled off this mortal coil lie at piece in these whereabouts. This tour is an opportunity to honour them all.
