Begin the tour at the very place that Madrid was founded. Here you will meet your local guide who will give you an introduction to the city’s culture and history before leading you on the tour itself. First stop is the bustling and bohemian La Latina neighbourhood, which was once the very centre of the city and is now alive with charming coffee shops and restaurants. Your guide will take you to hidden gems such as a 17th century garden and an old square that was once used as a bullring.


Continue to reach a street that for centuries was the centre of commerce in Madrid. Stop off at an old cloister and taste some delicious sweets made by nuns. Then head to Lavapies, Madrid’s famous multicultural neighbourhood. Get to know this intriguing district by visiting a lively food market and an arts centre and learn about traditional flamenco and gypsy culture in Madrid.
