Come and see why everyone's talking about Brooklyn! What started as a ''bedroom community'' in Brooklyn Heights is today New York City’s most populated borough and a destination in its own right. This guided walking tour takes you to Williamsburg which is now known as Brooklyn's hippest neighbourhood.
Be prepared to be surprised and inspired as you walk the streets and witness a scene that is setting global trends. An influential hub for indie rock, hipster culture, and the local art community, Williamsburg is at the cutting edge. Another ethnic melting pot of New York City, Williamsburg has enclaves of Italians, Jews, Puerto Ricans and Dominicans. This adds to the diversity and interest in the area and also means great food.
Over the course of about three hours you will browse the coolest antique and retro shops of NYC. Also expect to view creative underground graffiti and street art. Discover the story of Brooklyn's dramatic renewal, how it went from neglect and abandonment to becoming a cultural capital. Now, the area is threatened by gentrification and the influx of wealth which has been historically foreign to the area. Be fascinated as you learn about Brooklyn's historic role as a capital of beer brewing and leader in the Industrial Revolution.
