Program
Day 1:
Airport – Kumai – Tanjung Harapan Camp – Proboscis Monkey Tour – Houseboat (Lunch, Dinner)
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, meet our staff and guide for direct transfer to Kumai (approx. 20 minutes). Upon arrival, board the houseboat where lunch will be served on board. Then, we will start the navigation on the Kumai River for about 15 minutes until we reach the Seikonyer River, the main river of Tanjung Puting National Park. We will navigate this river surrounded by lush vegetation such as Nipa palms, pandanus and other tropical trees. It is possible to observe birds, macaques, proboscis monkeys and, with luck, orangutans. Weather permitting, we will visit the orangutan feeding area at Tanjung Harapan at 15:00. At 4:00 PM, return to the houseboat to continue the tour along the river observing proboscis monkeys, a species endemic to Borneo. Dinner and overnight on board the houseboat.
Day 2:
Houseboat – Pondok Tanggui – Camp Leakey – Houseboat (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
After breakfast, sail to Pondok Tanggui, the second rehabilitation center for orangutans. Observation of orangutan feeding at 09:00. Free time to take photos. Then, return to the houseboat and continue to Camp Leakey, the park's highlight. We will sail along the black river, rich in wildlife such as birds, primates, fish and crocodiles. Lunch will be prepared by our cook with a variety of dishes. On arrival at Camp Leakey, hike through the forest to observe another orangutan feeding session. Free time until 16:00, then return to the houseboat and sail to the Nipa palm area to enjoy the natural spectacle of thousands of fireflies. Dinner and overnight on board the houseboat.
Day 3:
Houseboat – Kumai – Airport (Breakfast)
Breakfast on board, then sail back to Kumai. Direct transfer to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your departure flight.
