Driving along the classic "Marathon" road you have the chance to see the ancient marble mines of Mount Penteli. We will pass through Paiania, Spata- the airport area, Pikermi their vineyards produce the amber wine called "Retsina" which can be found everywhere!
Arriving in Marathon, through the pinewoods, you can see the battlefield of Marathon and the Tomb (Burial Mound) with an interesting museum. Continuing to Vravrona the beautiful countryside town with the temple of Artemis.
In the road back to the ship we will pass through Ramnous with the temples of "Nike" and "Nemesis", Attica's northern border, New Olympic Stadium in which the 2004 Olympics were held.
