Full day tour. This wonderful tour starts with a stop at Sangeh monkey forest. Immense nutmeg trees form this oasis of peace. Well known for meditation, it houses two temples that date back to the 13th century and are dedicated to the goddess Vishnu and to sacred monkeys.

We will continue through unspoiled landscapes to the small village of Batur to visit the Pura Ulu Danau Batur, famous for its architecture and the spectacular location on the edge of Lake Batur. Through countryside we will head up towards Kintamani for lunch at a panoramic restaurant.

After lunch, we will visit the Tirta Empul temple, which dates back to the year 962. Its springs are famous for being holy and able to heal every illness and is said to give you eternal youth. Our last stop on the way home will be the Gunung Kawi: 200 steps down the canyon give access to this temple.

It is an 11th century temple and comprises 10 rock-cut shrines that are carved into some 7 metre-high (23 ft) sheltered niches of the sheer cliff face. Local tales say it has been carved into the rocks by a giant with his fingernails in one night. We will return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
