A classic among classics, this musical is based on the 1911 novel by Gaston Leroux. Set in Paris, it tells the story of the relationship between the Phantom of the Opera and Christine, a young stand-in.
The World premiere in took place in London on October 9th 1986 at Her Majesty's Theatre, since then there have been more than 10,000 performances, productions in more than 90 cities around the world and winning over 50 major theatre awards.
The Phantom of the Opera is a story of love and passion, characterised by its Victorian atmosphere, packed with poignant emotion and tragedy. The action takes place in an opera house in Paris, in two different settings, the stage of the theatre and the dark and dingy basement where the phantom lives. All this tragic character wants is to be recognised as a composer, using Christine to carry out his ambition to create an opera. This dramatic musical full of emotions will captivate you from beginning to end.
