Program details

Visit the site of ancient Olympia and its museum with a tour conducted by an official guide and walk or even run in the footsteps of the ancient Olympians!

Guests will be picked up from their resorts and will be transferred to the main port in Zakynthos Town to meet the ferry boat. From here the ferries travel over to the mainland of Greece, taking about one and a quarter hours. On the ferry boat there is a snack bar and toilet facilities.

On arrival at Kyllini port, the guests will rejoin the coach and guide and after a 50 minute drive south will reach the wonderful site of Olympia. Now time for the highlight of the trip - the Archaeological site of Olympia. There will be an official guide from the site who will conduct a full tour of some of Greece's treasures: the location of the Temple of Zeus, one of the seven wonders of the world; the Temple of Hera, where the statue of Hermes was found; the original position of the Olympic flame; and the original Olympic stadium, to name but a few historic points. There will also be a visit to the museum at Olympia.

Following the official visits, the coach will then take the guests to the village of Olympia for lunch and shopping where time allows. Olympia is wonderful for cut price gold, leather goods, books and souvenirs. There may also be enough time for anyone wishing to visit the medals museum dedicated to the modern 1896 Olympics. Leaving Olympia, it is time for the journey back to Kyllini port to meet the ferry boat and to sail back to Zakynthos. The ferry will arrive back in Zakynthos Port at about 18.30. Changes in the order of the itinerary are at the discretion of the guide.
