Come and spend a day's shopping at Santa Cruz, Tenerife's sophisticated capital city. You'll find all the big name brands here as well as tiny shops chock full of good buys too. Department stores are also a great place to snap up some great duty-free bargains. Just make sure you don't forget your credit card. And for those of you who are not interested in shopping Santa Cruz is a great place to explore with its marvellous seafront promenade and plenty of cafés and bars to while away the hours as you watch the world go by.After being picked up from your hotel, we'll head straight for Tenerife's largest town, Santa Cruz, located in the lush north of the Island. The settlement of Santa Cruz was founded in 1492 but did not become the capital of Tenerife until the 19th Century. Up to then it was simply the port for the neighbouring town of La Laguna. Now it's rightly famous for its shopping.
Most shops are to be found on the pedestrian precinct on Calle Castillo and other shopping areas nearby include Imeldo Seris, Villalba Hervas and San Jose. The main market is also worth a visit where you will marvel at the amazing variety of produce on sale. Take some time for a leisurely meal in one of the many excellent bars and restaurants before boarding your bus for the return trip to your resort.
