Program details

We will pick you up at your hotel in Santiago de Chile in the morning to begin our historical tour. We will go to our first stop, the Museum of Memory and Human Rights, a space dedicated to show the horrors committed during the Chilean military dictatorship, during the mandate of Augusto Pinochet, between 1973 and 1990. Here we can better understand the context that it was lived in Chile and the way in which this period affected Chile and its population, in order to reflect on what happened. Then, we will move to the Government Palace called "La Moneda", where we will know in detail thanks to our guide how the beginning of the dictatorship developed and how important the Government Palace was, where the military dictatorship began. Many historical details are developed in this place, which has a very important importance in the history of Chile. As the last stop on our thoughtful and historic tour, we will move to the General Cemetery. This place was built almost two centuries ago, where we will travel through Chilean history creating a kind of museum, due to the names of illustrious characters that are buried in it. In the General Cemetery we will visit several places of very important historical relevance, for example where thousands of bodies were buried clandestinely during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, such as in mass graves. There is also the Memorial to the Disappeared Detainees and the tomb of Salvador Allende Gossens, president of Chile until his death during the putsch of 1973. At the end of our historical experience, we will transfer him to his hotel again, where we took him at the beginning of the tour
