Program details
Potsdam, the Versailles of Germany. Centuries later was the scene of heavy bombing and the Cold War.
Today it is a recognized World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it is the capital of Brandenburg since 1990 and has attempted to regain its glory in decadency since the age of Frederick the Great and his ancestors.
Potsdam includes much more: the varied gardens and palaces of Sanssouci Park, the Dutch Quarter, the Old Market Square, and the evocative historic center with the Brandenburg Gate Small, functionalist architecture of the communist era and the palace where Stalin, Churchill, and Truman signed the division of Germany.
