Program details

Start with a fascinating walking tour of the famous Ile de la Cité in the middle of the Seine River; home to kings, revolutions, and the infamous gargoyles. See the imposing walls of the Conciergerie, where Marie-Antoinette spent her last days during the French Revolution, and admire the oldest clock in Paris, dating back to 1535 - it still works! Stand on the 0km point in front of Notre Dame from where all French road distances are calculated - you are truly in the heart of Paris.

You are invited to enter the famous towers of Notre Dame to discover the medieval symbol of Paris avoiding the crowds. We start at imposing forecourt and it won't be long before you realise why Victor Hugo chose to make this location the setting for his widely acclaimed novel, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. From the flying buttresses to the threatening gargoyles and the sky-reaching spires, the presence of this Gothic building is both beautiful and ominous. Watch history unfold as your expert guide recounts the amazing history of Notre Dame, from antiquity to current day.

During the tour, your guide will also take you to the left bank where you will pass the famous bookstore “Shakespeare and co”, featured in the movie midnight in Paris and from there, you will catch memorable views of the Notre Dame Island.
