Program details

Escape the hustle and bustle of Seattle in a luxury mini-bus and head for the Olympic National Park, on the Olympic Peninsula, a veritable microcosm of Northwest ecosystems. You’ll find remote beaches, some of the oldest forests in the US and the magnificent Olympic Mountains.

There will be plenty of photo-stops along the way as well as a few breaks for short nature walks. Next, we’ll walk out on a narrow sand spit towards an atmospheric lighthouse. In the spring and early summer, you’ll be able to observe thousands of migrating seabirds who come to nest in the shallow waters of the lagoon.

Continue with a climb to Hurricane Ridge. At an elevation of over 1500m, you will take in the unforgettable 360-degree views of the jagged peaks of the Olympic Mountains, the glistening Pacific Ocean and the San Juan Islands. Black Bears, Coyotes and mountain lions are all common sight in this area and over 16 species of flora and fauna are only found in the park. In winter when the park is often snowbound you may have to use snowshoes for part of the trek.
