Luau Kalamaku, A Hawaiian Experience

General information

Destination
Kauai Island, United States

Program details

The story of the Hawaiian people and how they came to inhabit these paradisiacal islands is one of the most dramatic legends known to man. Join us as the Kauai skies darken and the cast recounts through song and dance this epic and dangerous voyage between Hawaii and Tahiti.

The Luau Kalamaku show is performed in the grounds of the stunning Kilohana Estate, which began life as a cattle ranch in 1896. The beautiful mansion was built in 1936 and has been carefully restored to its original condition. It now houses shops, art galleries and a restaurant. Wander around this lush plantation until you hear the call of the conch shell, signalling the beginning of the traditional Hawaiian Imu Ceremony.

Graceful hula dancers, traditional fire knife dancing, fire poi-ball exhibition, dramatic torch lighting and imu ceremonies combine with Tahitian music and Hawaiian food & drink to bring you the ultimate island experience.

Through the laughter, fears, seduction and fire of these ancient voyagers, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors.

The performers are all Kauai residents and all share a passion for music and dance. They are very proud of Luau Kalamaku and as they take the stage each evening, their pride in their island culture will overwhelm you.
