Program details

Live the very essence of Istanbul, the city that bonds and conciliates the East and the West. This tour takes you to a variety of sights that are sure to leave a lasting impression.

Begin by visiting the Spice Bazaar, where the manifold aromas and colours of spices, fruits and flowers are sure to bewilder your senses. Then, head for the famous Bosphorus River for a cruise along the waterway that separates Europe and Asia. Admire the Ottoman palaces and wooden villas that line both shores.

After that, get to know the Rumeli Fortress, an ancient defensive construction erected to control the Bosphorus. After lunch at a typical Turkish restaurant, move on to the magnificent Eyup Sultan Mosque and his Tomb. Eyup el-Ensari was the flag bearer of the Prophet Mohammed and the mosque and his tomb are the two most sacred sites of Islam after Mecca and Jerusalem.

Ascend to the top of a green hill on a breath-taking cable car ride. There, enjoy the vantage point of the Golden Horn from the quaint Pierre Loti Coffee House. The cafe is named after renowned French poet Pierre Loti who, very fond of Istanbul, used to sit here to write about the city.

Last but not least, visit the curious Miniaturk, a site that compacts all of Turkish culture into a miniature city. The most famous landmarks of Istanbul, Anatolia and the former Ottoman territories can all be seen here alongside an array of miniature Turks, like something out of a fairy tale.
