If you are bold enough to climb the highest pyramid of the Mayan Riviera, the re- ward will be one of the most stunning panoramas in the area. With over 40 meter shigh, Nohoch Mul, which in Mayan means “big hill”, it’s the largest pyramid in the Yucatan Peninsula. Coba is translated into Spanish as “water stirred by wind”. Between 400 and 1100 AD, it was one of the largest cities in the Classic Maya period, reaching accommodate about 50,000 inhabitants.
