Program details
Discover the Flamingo Gardens in Davie, a beautiful 60-acre Tropical Botanical Garden Paradise and an Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary.
Hop aboard the Tram and explore some of the last original jungle growth in South Florida. Marvel at the scenery as you travel through a unique native hammock of 200-year-old oaks, a lush rainforest, tropical fruit groves and see the mitigated wetlands where many of the juvenile birds that are born in the Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary are released. Get a glimpse into life in the 1930's as you take a tour of the Wray Home Museum, the former summer residence of the founders of Flamingo Gardens Floyd and Jane Wray, built in 1933.
Take a walk through the Aviary, a 25,000 square foot Everglades free-flight facility, housing one of the largest collections of wading birds in America. Take a visit to the Aligator Lagoon, home to some of florida’s native alligators. You can also see Josh the Bear at the Black Bear Habitat, and watch the big cats prowl at the Panther and Bobcat Habitats. As well as adorable otters and other animals, no visit to the sanctuary would be complete without a visit to the Flamingo Pond, which showcases Caribbean Flamingos amidst their naturalistic environment of tropical vegetation and sparkling waterfalls!
