Program details

Your Snæfellsnes adventure begins with us picking you up from Reykjavik. Stopping for supplies for the day ahead we will then start the journey to the peninsula driving through beautiful scenery including the atlantic with backdrops of mountains along our path to our first stop.

Ytri Tunga is a farm near the site of a beautiful black beach known for a wide variety of wildlife including many birds and even some seals!

Next we will make a visit to Arnarstapi where we will walk along the coastline of this picturesque little village. Here we will take a break for lunch.

There is an option for you to visit Vatnshellir Lava cave situated in Snæfellsjökull National Park. Here you can explore the amazing world of lava formations, countless stalactites and stalagmites.

Onto another volcanic setting, we will visit Djúpalónssandur that offers majestic views of the sea and home to many stories of shipwrecks and adventure.

Leaving the beach we carry on towards the northern side of the peninsula stopping by the quaint town of Grundarfjörður. A photographers dream as it is surrounded by many beautiful waterfalls, beaches, cliffs and other natural wonders including the impressive striking Kirkufell mountain. At 463 metres tall, it rises tall against the idyllic fishing village.

We carry on to the lava field of Berserkjahraun, a dramatic visual that is home to many Viking legends from the pagan times. On our return, we go through rural highland passes, where a view of Gerðuberg basalt columns can be seen. These geometric shapes rising can be mistaken for man made creations but are a result of thousands of years of natural phenomena. After which we head back to Reykjavík where you will be dropped off in the evening.
