Program details
Be dazzled at the sheer force of nature as the El Abib river drops more than 100m into a green pit of limestone, against a backdrop of spectacular red sandstone. All this power and colour is set in between
a lush green forest, making the Ouzoud Falls a truly unforgettable sight to behold.
After being picked up, you will be comfortably transferred to the site of this natural wonder. Drink in the scenery as you approach the falls before taking a small pathway, sheltered by olive trees, down to the bottom of the falls. Look up in awe at the magnitude and volume of water that is cascading around you before heading up to the summit.
In the Berber language, ‘Ouzoud’ means the act of grinding grain and at the top of the falls there are a dozen small, old mills that are still in use to this day. Be sure to pack your camera as there are multiple opportunities to
take some superb photographs of the waterfall and its surrounding area.
You will have plenty of free time on this guided tour to explore on your own and even have the chance to
make friends with the families of Barbary apes that inhabit the area. Normally they are not too shy to pose for photos but approach them slowly and show plenty of respect to our primate cousins.
