Program details
Our naturalist guide will pick you up at your hotel in the morning to start the 1.5-hour journey to the small town of Puerto Viejo, Sarapiqui, driving through Braulio Carrillo, one of the most exuberant national parks in Costa Rica.
Once in Puerto Viejo, you will arrive to the comforts of a private pier, where you will be welcomed with fresh fruits. Hop aboard a boat and experience the richness of the Costa Rican rain forest and its magnificent inhabitants such as toucans, monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, birds, and many other species that call this wonderful river “Home”.
After a scenic drive you will arrive to the private and exclusive Madero Negro Reserve, where you will enjoy a typical Costa Rican buffet. After lunch you will take a guided tour to the Dart Frog Sanctuary, Butterfly Farm and Snake Collection, where you will get to see a wide variety of species. Following these activities, you will have some time to walk around the Botanical Gardens where you will see many different bird species.
Finally, to conclude the journey, enjoy world-renowned Costa Rican coffee before returning to San Jose.
