Program details

Embark on an adventure as you take a twenty minute ride through the dense Atlantic rain forest of Tijuca and ascend to the summit of Corcovado Mountain, crowned by the largest Art Deco statue in the world. Towering a staggering 38 metres (125ft) and argueably one of Brazil´s most recognizable landmarks: Christ the Redeemer.

Admire the breath-taking views of the city below from this incredible vantage point as your guide points out some of Rio´s most famous landmarks such as Guanabara Bay, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, the Jardim Botânico, Tijuca National Park, and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Continue as you descend the mountain heading towards the world-famous Maracana Football Stadium, officially known as the Estádio Jornalista Mário Filho. We’ll drive around the outside of this magnificent sports venue, first opened for the 1950 World Cup, and still the largest of its kind in South America.

End the tour with the Sambadrome, home to the world-famous Rio Carnival designed by famous local architect Oscar Niemeyer in 1984, this specially built parade area where 90,000 spectators watch the city’s samba schools compete for the most enormous floats, the exuberant costumes and the meanest of rhythms. Get a sense of the sheer size of the event as you gaze down the 700m runway.
