From its intricate lace-like facade to the sumptuous interiors with frescos by Tintoretto and Veronese, this is a place that reveals the glorious height of Venice’s most prosperous period of history. Take some time to admire the rich details of the gold staircase and the hundreds of scenes masterfully created to decorate the hallowed walls of this stately building.
Lastly, follow in the footsteps of the criminals of old as you cross the famous Bridge of Sighs, named for the sounds that would escape from the lips of the condemned as they caught their last glimpse of Venice before being imprisoned.
