Program details

15 Kilometers South of Tulum lay a sleepy village known as Muyil, with its economy based on the exploitation of the varied surroundings such as jungle, sweet water river and natural biosphere. Muyil ruins are a lesser known site compared to their cousins of Chichen-Itza and Coba however they are none less important to the Mayan culture. Early glimpses shown in the architecture reveal the Mayan World.

After a fill of culture it will be time to head even further south to a unique place in the world known as Magical Bacalar. A 7 colored lagoon awaits you with its breathtaking scenery. Take to the lagoon on a boat tour, during which you will see "OJO DE AGUA" (an underground water system that flows from channels coming from the State of Chiapas that feeds the lagoon). Then visit the 'Black CENOTE ' a sinkhole in the lagoon. An unusual phenomenon which is 200 meters deep. As you cruise the lagoon taking in the stunning colors, you will notice the Carrizo stones beneath the surface.

Your guide will explain the battles that took place as well as take you to the channel of pirates with real stories of how the pirates used to steal raw materials and precious wood from passing ships. Within the channel of Pirates is also a natural mud bath that is part of the lagoon, here you will have the chance to exfoliate your body bringing you eternal beauty. The final part of the lagoon adventure is the “STROMATOLITES” translated means living stones. The oldest known living things on the Earth. They are colonies of bacteria that form layer upon layer of living rock formations. Similar to stalagmites and stalactites.

After all of this adventure and culture, we are sure you will be hungry so we have handpicked a perfect spot in a restaurant overlooking Bacalar Lagoon. Here you will feast on a sumptuous lunch before finishing off the day with a quick tour of the San Felipe Fort for a final pic stop before heading back to the Riviera Maya.
