Program details
Britain is famous for its pub culture, with a tradition of brewing beer that goes back centuries. Today Britain’s ales are experiencing something of a revival, with many craft breweries being revived and once again a wonderful variety of beers being grown and brewed around the country. But there is much more to beer than just drinking it!
Beer can be tasted and learnt about just like wine, and during this evening masterclass session you will learn about the brewing process, the many different flavours and how best to taste and enjoy them, how to store beer and how to serve it. Discover pale, dark and ruby red ales, specialty ales, gluten free beers and a refreshing London lager. Your evening will be led by an expert cask master, who will also serve you typical British foods and explain which one should be eaten with which beer, and why. Enjoy traditional foods made on the spot by a chef from the best local ingredients – mini fish and chips, mini steak and ale pies, Gloucestershire old spot sausages, wild boar and chorizo burgers, traditional British cheddar cheese and much more!
Armed with so much new knowledge, you’ll be able to choose your favourite and end the evening enjoying a pint or a bottle from the selection you have tasted. Our guide will be with you throughout the evening, filling you in on the history of Britain and London, it’s culture and traditions, and to help you with any queries you may have and offer advice and insights on London for the rest of your stay.
An evening in a British pub is something not to be missed on a trip to the UK - combine that with delicious home cooked traditional food, high quality ales and great company, and you will have an evening to remember!
