Program details

An experience of a lifetime awaits you in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, as you set out for a five hour, nighttime excursion into the exotic local wildlife. After the sun has dropped and the temperature cools, the desert truly comes alive.

Grab your gear and head out in search of the nocturnal animals inhabiting the desert. Using high-tech night-vision binoculars to see into the desert scape, keep your eyes peeled to catch a glimpse of lizards emerging from slumber and owls on the hunt. Day time animals can also be seen as they use the cover of the dark to move away from their hideouts to drink, forage and frolic.

Enjoy the dark and quiet desert, and the fresh, crisp air as a contrast to the bright lights, heat and noise of the city. Drive in and amongst the sandy dunes in search of one great sighting after the next. Try your hand at animal identification, study the animal behaviour, and remark at the diversity of both the plant and animal life coexisting here. After your invigorating nature drive, take the opportunity to relax at an open aired camp and enjoy the cooler desert air as you lie back and gaze at the blanket of stars above you.

A nighttime desert safari through Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve will provide you with a new perspective of the natural world. An evocative journey in the desert that comes to life beneath the moon.
