Program details
What better way to see the highlights of London than from onboard a vintage double-decker bus? Enjoy great views of Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and much more as you meander through the historic streets of the English capital. This unforgettable tour also includes a cruise on the River Thames and the chance to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace.
Take your seat on the beautifully restored double-decker bus and discover all of London’s highlights. First stop is at the Tower of London that was built nearly a thousand years ago and is now home to the Crown Jewels protected by the famous Beefeaters. This imposing former palace was once used as a fortress and a prison and you will see Traitors Gate where unlucky prisoners entered the Tower for the very last time. Stop for photos and a history lesson from your knowledgeable guide before heading to the Thames for a river cruise.
Enjoy a leisurely cruise on the River Thames and pass by Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, Cleopatra’s Needle and London Bridge before arriving at Westminster pier to rejoin the bus and head for Buckingham Palace. The world famous residence of Her Majesty the Queen of England, Buckingham Palace is bursting with history and luxury and if you take part in the morning tour you will have the chance to witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony.
Soak up the elegant setting and enjoy your sumptuous main course and dessert before proceeding with the tour. Or, for a quintessential British experience you can finish the tour with a traditional Afternoon Tea at the Criterion Restaurant, situated in the heart of Piccadilly Circus since 1873.
