Program details
Enjoy two of the most emblematic buildings in Barcelona with a visit to Gaudi's La Pedrera (Casa Mila) and Casa Batllo:
Visit La Pedrera Casa Milà, popularly known as ''La Pedrera''. A unique building constructed between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926) and declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1984.
Situated on one of Barcelona´s most prestigious thoroughfares Passeig de Gracia, it was originally built as a block of flats during the major expansion of the City in what became a key bourgeois residential area. Discover why this building was considered by many to be ahead of it´s time as you marvel at the artistic and technical detail of one of Gaudi´s finest creations.
Travel a few blocks down the wide and open boulevard and you arrive at La Casa Batllo, one of the key examples of modernist architecture in Barcelona. It was again built by Antoni Gaudi in 1904-1906 by order of the textile industrialist Josep Batllo.
The spectacular original facade is an icon of Barcelona and the design remains a masterpiece of shape, colour and light, pre-empting the theory of rationalism 30 years before it´s time.
