Program details
Explore Tudor Hampton Court Palace, discover the most emblematic places of London with a Thames river cruise and enjoy a menu at the legendary Hard Rock Café.
Hampton Court Palace
The flamboyant Henry VIII is most associated with this majestic palace, which he extended and developed in grand style after acquiring it from Cardinal Wolsey in the 1520s. He lavished money on fabulous tapestries and paintings, housed and fed a huge court and pursued a succession of wives, political power and domination over Rome.
The Tudor Buildings which remain are among the most important in existence, but the elegance and romance of Hampton Court Palace owes much to the elegant Baroque buildings commissioned by William and Mary at the end of the 17th century. The palace is set in 60 acres of gardens, which include the famous maze and the awe-inspiring Great Vine.
Thames river cruise - hop on-hop off
Experience London’s main attractions from the comfort of a modern river cruiser. In this guided excursion that includes commentary in seven different languages with free earphones, you will cruise down the world-famous River Thames. You’ll be able to get on and off as many times as you wish so you can visit London’s many riverside attractions.
The cruise departs from four of London’s main piers: Westminster, Waterloo, the Tower and Greenwich. The cruisers run between the different piers all day, covering most of riverside London and the main attractions which include the recently restored Cutty Sark, the sleek and modern Canary Wharf development, Tower of London and nearby Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast museum ship, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre as well as Tate Modern Museum, the Coca-Cola London Eye, Millennium Bridge, Westminster Abbey and, last but not least, Big Ben – all renowned as icons of this great city all over the world.
Hard Rock Cafe London – skip the line
The city that gave the world mods, rockers and the Rolling Stones is also the birthplace of the first ever Hard Rock Cafe. It was here that the first impromptu gig took place – take a bow, Paul McCartney – and that the first iconic T-shirt saw the light of day, and it was here that largest rock ’n’ roll memorabilia collection began.
Yes, this is where it all began back in 1971 when the Hard Rock Cafe brought moderately priced, laidback American fare and warm, friendly service enjoyed in a backdrop of rock 'n'roll music. The idea may seem commonplace now but at the time it was revolutionary in London. Times have changed but this old classic remains and you can still admire the cafe’s very first piece of rock memorabilia.
And don’t forget to check out Eric Clapton's Lead II Fender, which he originally donated to reserve a space at the busy bar, thus beginning a rock memorabilia collection that now numbers more than 74,000 pieces across almost 200 Hard Rock Cafes in over 50 countries. The London collection is now so large that a separate museum has opened at the Vault, in the old Coutts Bank, with items from Eric Clapton, Sting, The Who, the Sex Pistols and Guns N' Roses among other. Choose one of the following four menus and let the fun begin:
Gold Menu: Choice of starter: Lil House Salad.
Choice of main course: Legendary Burger, or Veggie Burger, or Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich, or Chicken Caesar Salad, or Twisted Mac, Chicken & Cheese Pasta.
Signature ice cream and choice of soft drink, coffee or tea
All mains served with either fries or a side salad.
