Program details

Release your adrenalin with this open kayak session in Lerida, Catalonia’s greenest municipality. Located in north-western Spain, Catalonia presents splendorous landscapes of all shapes and sizes, from abrupt mountain ridges in the northern Pyrenees to green expanses in the southern fields. The north of Lerida stretches up over the Pyrenees to the border with France. There we find Llavorsi, a quaint little village, nestled among the hulking mountains that surround it. The town is traversed by the Noguera Pallaresa River, to where people come from all over the country to practice adventure sports of all kind.

Join Roc Roi, Spain’s pioneering open kayak association, for an introduction to the world of kayaking where you will get to practice alongside amateurs and professionals alike on the Noguera Pallaresa River.

Kayak between eight and ten kilometres downstream over the rolling waters to get a taste of the sport; Open Kayak aims to be the first steps for those who don’t aim to become professionals but who enjoy practicing these sports to add a little spice to their holidays. Open Kayak allows you to stop for a while in parts of the river where you run no risk of bumping into other boats, so that you can practice at your own leisure. But don’t think this is all doggy-paddle; you will also surf and jump over waves in the choppier waters and even paddle upstream at times, all of which will give you the basis for a suitable canoeing technique.
