The Seven Churches of the Revelation are the seven major churches of early Christianity. The Primitive Church took shape in Asia Minor and fanned outwards from this heartland. Thus, a journey through this part of the world has something of the quality of a pilgrimage, a physical and spiritual search for the origins and realities of one’s faith.

This three day tour will take you to all seven sites. After an early morning flight to Izmir (or overnight bus to Kusadasi) we will drive to the old Greco-Roman city of Ephesus, the most important of the Seven Churches of Revelation where St. John brought Mary in fulfilment of his pledge to Jesus to protect her, and her last abode on earth before she ascended to heaven.

After lunch, we'll continue on to Laodicea before heading for Pamukkale where you can check into your hotel and spend the evening relaxing before having dinner. Early next morning we'll visit the ruins of the ancient city of Hierapolis, home of Philip the Evangelist. Then we'll drive on to Philadelphia, the youngest of the Seven Churches of Revelation, visiting the still standing remains of an early church and the city walls. In the afternoon we'll visit the ruins of the church at Sardis, arriving in the evening at Thyatira, one of the main strongholds of Early Christianity. We'll spend the evening at Pergamum where we'll have dinner and spend the night. After visiting the impressive ruins here in the morning we'll head for Izmir, where St. Paul praised the early inhabitants for their strong faith. Here we'll visit the Church of St. Polycarp and go a brief tour of this ancient city before catching the evening flight (or overnight bus) to Istanbul.

This three day tour includes return flights or bus tickets, hotel transfer, English speaking guides, half-board accommodation, lunch during tours and museum entrance fees. Please note that drinks are not included.
