Program details

Sieze the exciting opportunity to assist in the emotional event of Pope’s Blessing during his summer stay in Castel Gandolfo. This excursion will lead you to the nice and charming village of Castel Gandolfo. Close to Rome, the village is famous for its lake, good food and being the historical summer residence of the Pope himself!

This religious trip to the residence of the Pope has many interesting sights along the way. The ruins of the Baths of Caracalla dominate the landscape. The baths were the second largest public baths in Rome during the reign of Emperor Caracalla and the ruins still stand today! The Chapel Domine Quo Vadis lies just off Appian Way and is impressive with its domed structure. Close to Castel Gandolfo, the volcanic hills of Alban are scattered with various lakes and certainly make for brilliant sightseeing with its picturesque views.

The Castel itself overlooks the Albano Lake. The setting is incredibly peaceful and calm and the views of the surrounding hills and lakes from the small town are absolutely breathtaking and are well worth a visit. The actual service from the Pope is an incredible experience and one that many tourists come to experience for themselves while the Pope is taking his summer visit to the small town.

Whilst a largely religious experience, the views and the sightseeing available on the way to Castel Gandolfo makes this a perfect choice for all tourists, regardless of religious beliefs. This is not one to miss!
