HIGHLIGHTS:

* More than a 1,000 objects to admire

* Marvel at all the glittering trophies

* See all the memorabilia from over the years

The people’s team in Madrid is Atletico and this visit to the historic Vicente Calderon Stadium will give you a fascinating insight into a club that lives under the shadow of its more glamorous neighbours. But as winners themselves of 20 Spanish trophies and five European prizes, Atletico can rightly call themselves one of the world's great clubs.

This guided tour takes in the players' dressing rooms, the directors’ box, VIP areas, press room, dugouts, the tunnel, pitch and the glittering trophy room. You will also get to visit the club museum, considered to be one of the top five sports museums in the world. It boasts more than 1,000 objects and has been organised by the same sports museum expert who masterminded the Athens Olympic Museum and has himself donated hundreds of memorabilia such as player cards and fan flags to the collection.

The club was founded in 1903 as Athletic Club de Madrid by three Basque students as a branch of their local team, Athletic Bilbao. Learn all about the club's fascinating, illustrious history and the beginnings of football in Madrid. See all team jerseys from yesteryear; admire the dazzling arrays of trophies, including nine Ligas and 10 Spanish cups, and see the Winners’ Cup trophy from 1962, which put Atletico on the world footballing map. Bow before the 1974 Intercontinental Cup as well as the two Europa Leagues and two European Super Cups of more recent vintage.
