Your British afternoon starts at Trafalgar Square, where Nelson’s column stands proud; rising high above the National Gallery and the emblematic lions at the base of the column. Stroll down Whitehall, the centre of Her Majesty’s Government, which leads you down towards Parliament Square as your knowledgeable and friendly guide regales you with the history and stories from behind the government buildings and the Palace of Whitehall. Sneak a peek at the Horse Guards in their sentry boxes and through the central archway only the Queen is allowed to drive through.

Next stop is the centre of English politics. See where the Prime Minister lives at Downing Street, and take in spectacular views of the Houses of Parliament and the emblematic Big Ben. Your guide will tell you all about the Palace of Westminster before leading you to where Prince William and Kate Middleton were married and site of royal coronations: Westminster Abbey. After your afternoon’s amble, it’s time to rest your feet and enjoy a quintessentially British afternoon activity at a luxury hotel. Scrumptious scones served with decadent jam and clotted cream, as well as sandwiches and cakes complemented with a pot of fresh tea, all await you for afternoon tea.
