Program details

Elope to dreamy and romantic Middle England and discover the intellectual bastion of Oxford, the sleepy villages of the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon, the charming market town that gave the world William Shakespeare. This full day escorted tour offers an insight of the country that few visitors ever get to see.

As one of the world’s most famous centres of learning, Oxford boasts more than 900 years of beautiful faculties, halls, libraries, chapels and lodgings. Most were designed by the top architects of the day and earned it the soubriquet of City of Dreaming Spires. Enjoy a gentle walking tour through narrow alleys and historic squares. See the Bodleian Library and the splendid college courtyards. Visit the grandest college of them all, Christ Church, where many of the scenes in the Harry Potter films were shot.

The picturesque rolling hills of the Cotswolds are one of England’s greatest rural treasures. The area is a charming blend of breathtaking natural scenery, sleepy villages and bustling market towns. There will be free time for lunch (optional) at a Cotswold village.

At Stratford-Upon-Avon, follow in the footsteps of young Shakespeare with a guided tour of the picture-postcard town where he was born. Visit the half-timbered house where he was born in 1564 and also the half-timbered Anne Hathaway's Cottage, where his wife’s family lived.
